ISLAMABAD: Two police were left injured when robbers opened fire on seeing them during a robbery in the federal capital.
According to details, when police reached the spot during a robbery which took place last week, an exchange of fire took place right away injuring two policemen with bullet injuries.
Two dacoits were arrested on the spot and have been held at the Ramna police station. Police in this regard said that the robbery took place on Saturday in a house at gunpoint. The main accused in the incident and the ringleader of the dacoit gang named Tabassum has been arrested who earlier escaped.
The accused forcibly entered the home and started looting the valuables and later arrested when the police arrived. During the interrogation, the gang confessed to being involved in nine major looting incidents. Police said that further revelations are expected in the investigation.
It may be recalled that earlier an attempt of robbery in Islamabad was failed. Residents of the area, while trying to escape, caught a young dacoit and handed him over to the police, from whose possession weapons were recovered.
Last month During the robbery attempt, the robber, who escaped from the scene due to noise, was caught by the shopkeepers of the market and the locals with their help.
The apprehended robber was handed over to the police who recovered a loaded pistol and a magazine from his possession. The incident took place at around 11:30 am. According to eyewitnesses, the family members made a fuss when they saw robbers entering a house near Faisal Market with the intention of committing a crime.
