Islamabad rape victim demands justice, legal action against culprits

ISLAMABAD: A raped victim woman has demanded justice and legal action against the accused from authorities in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Mehak Ali, wife of Ehsan Ali, a resident of Dora village within the limits of Tarnol police station, while narrating her story, said that her cousin and brother-in-law Aqib borrowed Rs 500,000 from her.

“One day, Aqib called me to the house of a drug dealer Shahzad on the pretext of giving money. When I reached Shahzad’s house, the accused gang-raped me at gunpoint and made a nude video of me,” she alleged.

She said both the accused blackmailed her on the basis of video and extorted Rs 70,000,000. The woman said that the accused continuously blackmailed her and kept asking for more money.

She approached police and applied to register a case against the accused. Despite the application police failed to take any action against the accused, the victim added.

The woman appealed to the IG Islamabad and other senior government officials to arrest the accused and take strict action against the accused.
