ISLAMABAD: Armed gangs of dacoits, robbers, and vehicle lifters are on the loose in the capital city as scores of citizens were deprived of gold, cash, mobile phones, cars, and motorcycles by the criminals.
According to details, a recent wave of street/house robberies has scared residents of heavily guarded Islamabad. The street crimes are taking place in broad daylight.
A resident of Bani Gala was travelling on Main Expressway when two armed dacoites intercepted him at gunpoint. The dacoits shouted at the resident to give up his mobile, bike and cash, or else they would kill him. The dacoits took away cash, a motorcycle and two mobiles and fled.
A gang of thee dacoits having weapons in their hands also snatched a car from a man namely Sajid Hussain within the limits of Kohsar Police Station. In Nun area, a gang of robbers stormed into house of Mismat Dilshad and made off with cash, gold and other documents worth Rs 1.3 million.
Muhammad Ashraf, resident of 1-10/2 Sector, also appeared before Khanna Police Station officials and stated that thieves have picked up his motorcycle from outside his house.
The victims reported the crimes to the police. Cases were registered against unknown criminals while further investigation was underway.
