Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad, who was part of the Global Mood Flotilla, has been released and is currently at the Pakistani Embassy in Jordan, as reported by national media on Tuesday.
According to details, in his recent statement, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that Senator Mushtaq Ahmad is in good health and high spirits and is safe at the Pakistani Embassy. The embassy is ready to facilitate his return to Pakistan as per his wish and convenience.
Expressing gratitude to all friendly countries for their support in securing Mushtaq Ahmad’s release from Israeli custody, the Deputy Prime Minister said he appreciates their cooperation and assistance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, Pakistan stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was actively engaged in ensuring the safe return of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad. The spokesperson of the Foreign Office stated, “The ministry is working on the matter through the Pakistani Embassy in Oman.”
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office stated that efforts were ongoing with the cooperation of the Jordanian government for the safe return of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad to Pakistan.
The statement that emerged after the arrests of volunteers from the international convoy “Global Sumud Flotilla,” carrying humanitarian aid for the oppressed people of Gaza, by Zionist forces, raised hopes for the former senator’s return.
