Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has drawn widespread attention and praise in Pakistan after expressing solidarity with the country through a heartfelt “Pakistan Zindabad” message on social media.
The tweet, shared amid ongoing regional tensions and diplomatic efforts, quickly went viral, with many Pakistanis welcoming the gesture as a sign of strengthening ties and mutual respect between Iran and Pakistan.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has rejected reports claiming that Tehran refused to attend peace talks in Islamabad, saying Iran’s position has been “misrepresented” by U.S. media amid ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire.
Iran’s position is being misrepresented by U.S. media.
We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we care about are the terms of a conclusive and lasting END to the illegal war that is imposed on us.

His remarks come after a report by The Wall Street Journal suggested that Iranian officials had declined participation in upcoming talks in Pakistan’s capital and deemed U.S. demands unacceptable.
“Iran’s position is being misrepresented by U.S. media,” Araghchi said, emphasizing that Tehran remains open to dialogue under the right conditions.
“We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we care about are the terms of a conclusive and lasting end to the illegal war imposed on us,” he added.
The Iranian foreign minister also shared a video showing citizens in Iran waving Pakistani flags, in what appeared to be a gesture of appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic role and public support.
