Iqra Aziz fumes at banning ‘Javed Iqbal’ movie

As we know, actor Yasir Hussain-starrer ‘Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer’ was recently halted in Punjab for screening, and apparently, Mrs. Hussain is not happy with the Punjab government’s decision.

The movie which is set for its countrywide premiere today after several months of postponement has had its release across the country except for Punjab.

Now, the angry actress and wife of Yasir Hussain, Iqra Aziz ranted over the issue on her Instagram account that why can’t people just accept the fact that this really happened in the 1990s.

According to Aziz, PEMRA has not watched Ted Bundy’s tapes. She took a jibe at the regulatory association sarcastically. For those who don’t know Ted Bundy was a famous serial killer of the US in the 80s.

The movie, which is a biopic of Javed Iqbal – a serial killer who murdered 100 boys in Lahore and provided authorities evidence of his crimes in 1999, is slated to hit theatres nationwide today. The film has been directed by Abu Aleeha who has written the screenplay of the film as well.

Javed Iqbal was originally supposed to be released in October, but the premiere was pushed to December 24 because it was still being cleared by the censor boards. The film’s release experienced yet another delay due to a rise in Covid-19 cases. The release date was rescheduled to January 28.
