Internet services have been disrupted in various areas of Karachi and other cities across the country since last night, causing significant inconvenience to users.
According to details, internet services have been affected in different parts of Karachi due to security concerns, leaving users facing severe difficulties.
Yesterday, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior stated that mobile data and Wi-Fi services would only be suspended in areas with security concerns, and that internet and mobile services would continue in other parts of the country.
In the wake of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest, several major routes leading to the federal capital from Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Faisalabad have been blocked.
As part of the preparations for PTI’s planned protest in Islamabad on the 24th, roads leading into the twin cities have been blocked with containers. Key locations, including Faizabad, IJP Road, Rawat T-Chowk, Kharaj Factory, Mandra, and Taxila Road, have been sealed off with containers, while Kachehri Chowk will operate with one-way traffic. All connecting roads between Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been completely closed.
While Karachi faces disruptions, Gujranwala and Lahore are also experiencing internet shutdowns, with other cities in Pakistan grappling with similar issues. The internet outage is escalating tensions and anxiety among citizens, who feel their rights are being violated.
