GENEVA: International Human Solidarity Day is being observed around the world, including in Pakistan, with the aim of helping those affected by natural disasters and highlighting the importance of mutual solidarity in eradicating poverty and depression.

According to the details, every year under the auspices of the United Nations, December 20 is celebrated as the International Day of Human Solidarity. On this occasion, human rights organizations organize seminars, walks, and various other events.

During the celebrations, the speakers highlighted the importance of mutual unity and solidarity of human beings in eradicating poverty and cosmopolitanism. The main purpose of celebrating International Day is to stop human rights violations.

16 years ago today, on December 20, 2005, the United Nations General Assembly formally approved the observance of the International Day of Human Solidarity. Since then, arrangements have been made to celebrate World Day on an annual basis.

The United Nations Millenium Declaration also highlighted human solidarity as one of the core values of 21st-century global relations. World leaders say deprived classes can get help from rich people.

The coronavirus, which is spreading rapidly around the world, has spared no effort to sabotage human solidarity by widening the already widening gap in the social classes. The international community has a role to play in promoting international unity.
