Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi will travel to Afghanistan today on a one-day official visit, where he is scheduled to meet Afghan Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani in the capital, Kabul.
According to media reports, during the visit, Mohsin Naqvi will also hold meetings with senior officials of the Afghan government, focusing on matters of bilateral interest, regional security, and border management.
This high-level visit underscores Pakistan’s intent to maintain strategic dialogue with the Afghan interim administration amid growing challenges in cross-border coordination and regional stability.
The meeting with Sirajuddin Haqqani — one of the most influential figures in the Afghan government — is expected to cover counter-terrorism efforts, the movement of people across the Pak-Afghan border, and other security-related concerns.
The trip reflects Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach to strengthen ties and improve cooperation with its western neighbor.
A few days ago, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar paid a day visit to Kabul.
