ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the latest communication from an Indian journalist, known for his warmongering, has revealed the unholy nexus between the Modi government and Indian media that led to dangerous military adventurism.
The prime minister was referring to the damning leaked messages by firebrand Indian television anchor Arnab Goswami who purportedly knew of the Modi government’s plan to stage a so-called surgical strike in Pakistan days before the Balakot episode on February 26, 2019.
In a series of tweets on Monday, the prime minister said he had spoken at the United Nations General Assembly in 2019 about how “India’s fascist Modi government used the Balakot crisis for domestic electoral gains.”
He said the latest revelations from the communication of an Indian journalist, known for his warmongering, reveal the unholy nexus between the Modi govt & Indian media. that led to dangerous military adventurism to win an election in utter disregard for the consequences of destabilising the entire region.
“Pakistan averted a larger crisis by a responsible, measured response to Balakot. Yet, Modi govt continues to turn India into a rogue state,” he said.
PM Imran Khan said Indian sponsorship of terrorism in Pakistan, its abuses in occupied Kashmir and the 15-year Indian global disinformation campaign stand exposed. “Now India’s own media has revealed the dirty nexus that is pushing our nuclearised region to the brink of a conflict it cannot afford,” he warned.
He reiterated that the government will continue to expose India’s belligerent designs towards Pakistan and against Modi government’s fascism. He said the community must stop India from its “reckless, militarist agenda before the Modi govt’s brinkmanship pushes our region into a conflict it cannot control.”
The Foreign Office on Sunday also asserted that the leaked WhatsApp chats of Indian journalist Arnab Goswami has further exposed India’s sinister designs and vindicated Pakistan’s long-held position.
According to the foreign office, the world community had been presented with irrefutable evidence of India’s state-sponsorship of terrorism against Pakistan and anti-Pakistan disinformation and smear campaign globally.
“The transcripts included in the Mumbai police charge-sheet against the Republic TV anchor in the TRP case have further exposed India’s sinister designs and vindicated Pakistan’s long-held position,” the spokesman said.
He said that the latest revelations confirm what Pakistan has consistently pointed out regarding the BJP government staging “false flag” operations, maligning Pakistan with terrorism-related allegations in its bid to win elections.
“The pattern is unmistakable, and has been repeated to suit the RSS-BJP regime’s electoral calculations,” he added. The spokesman said that they had, at the outset, rejected India’s malicious propaganda against Pakistan and highlighted that the biggest beneficiary of the Pulwama attack in February 2019 was the BJP government.
He further said that the transcripts also illustrate the unholy nexus between the ‘Hindutva’ regime and its cronies in the Indian media. “Pakistan, for its part, will continue to counter Indian falsehoods with truth and act firmly and responsibly in the face of India’s provocations,” he added.
