In the Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan, an Indian Army tank sank in the Indira Gandhi Canal, resulting in the death of a soldier.
According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning during a routine military exercise. Two soldiers were inside the tank; one managed to escape, while the other remained trapped and lost his life.
Police reported that the body of the deceased soldier was retrieved after several hours of operation.
They further stated that during the exercise, armored vehicles and tanks were practicing crossing the canal when one tank got stuck in the middle and began sinking.
Upon receiving the information, police, the State Disaster Response Force, and Civil Defence teams reached the spot and, after hours of effort, recovered the body.
