In a heartbreaking development, India has refused to hand over the body of a Pakistani Baloch youth who passed away in a hospital in Chennai, exposing the extent of hostility that overlooks basic humanitarian values.
The 23-year-old, Syed Aryan Shah, had been suffering from heart and lung ailments and had been under treatment at a hospital in Chennai since December 2024.
Following Aryan’s death, his mother — who remains stranded in India with her son’s body — issued an emotional video appeal to the Government of Pakistan, pleading for arrangements to be made for her and her son’s body to be brought back to Pakistan. She specifically appealed to the Government of Pakistan and the Chief of Army Staff for urgent assistance.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has taken notice of the situation following the mother’s appeal.
According to provincial government spokesperson Shahid Rind, all hospital expenses in India have been paid by the Government of Balochistan. The provincial authorities have also contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the return of the deceased’s body and his family.
Rind further stated that arrangements for the repatriation of Aryan’s body and his relatives have been finalized, with all travel expenses being covered by the Balochistan government. He added that the authorities remain in constant contact with the family and are providing full support.
