India will celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Saturday, 21 March, after no confirmed sightings of the Shawwal moon were reported across the country.
According to Indian media, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Delhi announced that the moon was not sighted, and therefore Eid will fall on 21 March.
No moon sightings were reported in Lucknow and Hyderabad either, after which the Muslim Ulema Council also announced that Eid would be observed on Saturday in those cities.

Meanwhile, Malaysia, Indonesia and Bangladesh have also announced Eid on 21 March after the Shawwal moon was not sighted there.
