ISLAMABAD: The court has set for hearing the revision appeal filed by the petitioner in the illegal marriage case against former prime minister Imran Khan.
According to the details, the appeal against Imran Khan has been fixed for hearing by the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad. Petitioner Muhammad Hanif appealed against the decision of Civil Judge Nasr Minallah.
Judge Azam Khan of the District and Sessions Court Islamabad fixed the revised appeal for hearing after 7 days from today and issued attendance notices to Imran Khan and petitioner Muhammad Hanif for the hearing.
In the text of the revised appeal, the petitioner said that Bushra Bibi separated from Khawar Manika without reason and married Imran Khan. Mufti Saeed stated that the marriage of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi took place during Eid.
The text of the appeal stated that former first lady Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan lived in Bani Gala. In February 2018, they were remarried, on which Mufti Saeed had given a statement in front of the civil judge.
The text said that the court should annul the civil judge’s decision regarding Imran Khan’s illegal marriage. The civil judge declared the complaint inadmissible and the legal requirements were not met. The appeal should be allowed.
The appellant requested the court to initiate proceedings against Imran Khan. It should be noted that the application of the case related to the accusation of illegal marriage against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi was declared inadmissible two months ago today.
The District and Sessions Court had declared the application inadmissible and remarked that the hearing of the application against marriage in ‘iddati does not come under the jurisdiction of the court.
