ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to challenge the court’s decision declaring the election of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz null and void in the Supreme Court.
According to details, the Lahore High Court yesterday declared the election of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz null and void and decided to appoint former Chief Minister Usman Buzdar as acting Chief Minister of Punjab for 24 hours, which was released on the official website of the High Court.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered a recount of votes by removing 25 votes of deviant members, which has created a new political crisis in Punjab. The election between the two chief ministerial candidates, Speaker Pervaiz Elahi and former opposition leader Hamza Shahbaz, will take place today.

Chairman PTI has announced to challenge the decision of the Lahore High Court in the Supreme Court and has appealed to the Supreme Court to issue a stay order on the election of the Chief Minister. Imran Khan said that the election of Hamza Shehbaz was unconstitutional.
PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan in his statement regarding the court decision said that 6 members of PTI in the Punjab Assembly have gone for Hajj while the Election Commission has not even issued notification of 5 reserved seats for us.
