Several motorways across Punjab have reopened following an improvement in visibility, according to a spokesperson from the Motorway Police.
According to a report by Samaa New on Monday, the announcement comes after a period of disruptions due to poor weather conditions that had reduced visibility to unsafe levels. The reopening of these highways is a significant development for travelers who were previously faced with delays and diversions.
Motorway M11, which connects Lahore to Kamonki, is now open for traffic. This route, which plays a vital role in connecting key cities in Punjab, had been temporarily closed due to low visibility caused by foggy conditions. Similarly, Motorway M4, another important road linking various regions in the province, has resumed operations, easing the travel burden for commuters and commercial transport alike.
In addition to these two major motorways, Motorway M5, which stretches from Multan to Zahir Peer, has also been reopened. The resumption of services on M5 is particularly important for the smooth flow of goods and services between central and southern Punjab, areas that are economically significant for the province.
Despite the improved visibility, Motorway Police have urged drivers to exercise caution and remain vigilant while traveling on these routes. They have emphasized the need for drivers to adhere to safety protocols, including maintaining proper speed limits, ensuring vehicles are in good condition, and being prepared for any sudden changes in weather conditions that may still pose risks.
