ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar has said that he was honoured to host the Russian Trade and Industry Minister.
In a tweet, Hammad Azhar posted about the sixth meeting of the Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC) that through its ties between Pakistan and Russia entered a new phase.

Decades old dispute sorrounding settlement of mutual claims has been amicably resolved.

Azhar wrote, “Honored to host Russian Trade and Industry Minister. 6th IGC has concluded with Pak-Russia ties entering a new phase.”
He added, “Decades-old dispute surrounding settlement of mutual claims has been amicably resolved. Enhanced cooperation in the public and private sectors targeted.”
The sixth meeting of Pakistan-Russia Inter-governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific Technical Cooperation was held at the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Wednesday.

While addressing a press conference earlier, alongside Russian Trade Minister Denis Valentinovich in Islamabad, Azhar said that Russian involvement in development projects would be mutually beneficial to both Russia and Pakistan.
The officials from both sides held discussions for cooperation in different sectors including energy, industries, science, and technology besides consulting ways and means to enhance trade and economic ties.
