A post shared by Yo Yo Honey Singh (@yoyohoneysingh)

He released a video on his Instagram account clarifying his statement, saying that his words had been misunderstood.

In the video message, the singer said that since morning, an edited clip of his video has been going viral on social media, which many people have found offensive. He added that he wanted to explain the full context behind it.

He said that he had appeared as a guest on a show, and a day before that, he had met several doctors who informed him that many people from the current generation were being affected by sexually transmitted diseases.

He further explained that during the show, when he saw a large number of Gen Z individuals, he decided to advise them in a language they could relate to. He said he used OTT-style language, the kind commonly used in films and dramas, to explain the issue and urge them to take precautions.

When your songs doesn’t make noise, when you start getting irrelevant, try to earn footage by talking nonsense…#honeysingh

Yo Yo Honey Singh said that the language he used for Gen Z offended some people, and he apologized for his remarks.

He stressed that he had no intention of hurting anyone’s feelings and acknowledged that humans are prone to making mistakes. He added that he would try to avoid using such language in the future.

It is worth recalling that in the past, during a program, Honey Singh had revealed that he had suffered from mental illness. He had said that he went through a severe case of bipolar disorder.

He also admitted that there was a time when he considered himself dead and had reached a state of serious mental distress.
