ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has made its degree attestation system fully online and paperless, allowing students and graduates to apply for verification services around the clock without the need for physical documents.
According to the commission, the new e-attestation system enables applicants to submit requests 24 hours a day, offering greater convenience and flexibility to students and degree holders across the country.
Under the revised mechanism, applicants will no longer be required to carry original academic documents for attestation, as the process has been shifted entirely to a digital verification system. The HEC said the move was aimed at making the service faster, easier and more transparent.
The commission further said that attested degrees can now also be verified online, a feature expected to streamline authentication procedures for employers, institutions and foreign entities seeking credential confirmation.
According to an official statement, the new e-attestation system came into effect nationwide on May 11, marking a significant overhaul in the way academic credentials are authenticated in Pakistan.
The development is part of broader efforts by public institutions to digitise citizen services, reduce paperwork and improve administrative efficiency through technology-driven solutions.
