The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rains with snowfall over mountains across Pakistan from January 31 to February 04.
According to the Met Office, a westerly wave is affecting the country and may persist till February 4.
In Balochistan, rain with isolated heavyfalls (with snowfall over the hills) is expected in Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Chagai, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Turbat, Kech, Gwadar, Jiwani, Pasni, Ormara, Panjgur, Kharan, Noushki, Washuk, Mastung, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan, Musakhel, Kohlu, Jhal Magsi, Loralai, Ziarat, Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah and Qila Saifullah on February 2 and 3.
According to the Met Office, from January 31 to February 4 with sporadic breaks, Murree and Galliyat should see moderate to heavy rain and/or snow in Punjab and Islamabad.
In Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Potohar region, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Sahiwal, and Okara, light to moderate rain is predicted starting on January 31. In Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Rahimyar Khan, rain is predicted on February 2 and $3.
As for Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur will experience heavy rain-snowfall from January 31 to February 4 with sporadic gaps, while Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain-snowfall over the hills in these areas.
