KARACHI: As a severe heatwave continues to grip the metropolis, authorities have reported further heat-related emergencies today, resulting in one fatality and two individuals being rushed to hospitals in critical condition.
In the first reported incident, a man estimated to be between 40 and 42 years of age was discovered in critical condition near the Nayyar Shell Petrol Pump at Jamali Pul. Emergency responders quickly moved the victim to Al-Asif Hospital. Despite the efforts of the medical staff to stabilize him, the victim unfortunately succumbed to his condition during treatment.
Separately, rescue services were dispatched to the vicinity of Nareel Point at Lake Park, where two individuals—a male estimated to be 35 to 40 years of age and his companion—were found unconscious on the roadside.
The Edhi Foundation ambulance service arrived on the scene and promptly transported both victims to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for urgent care. Both individuals remain unidentified, and their medical status is currently classified as critical.
