KARACHI: Actor Hassan Ahmed has strongly criticized actor Fahad Sheikh for his alleged inappropriate behavior towards veteran actor and writer Syed Muhammad Ahmed, calling for a boycott of him and others seen in a viral video.
Taking to his Instagram story, Hassan Ahmed cited his own experience of working with Fahad Sheikh and accused him of habitually making fun of people in an attempt to appear witty.
Addressing Fahad Sheikh directly, Hassan Ahmed wrote that he has worked with him and from what he has known him over the years, he makes fun of almost everyone.

“You are one of those people who think that making fun of others will make them look smart,” Hassan Ahmed wrote. He further stated that Fahad Sheikh and the other people who are seen with him in the viral video should be boycotted.
Background of the controversy:
The controversy erupted after senior actor Syed Muhammad Ahmed recounted an incident on a recent podcast without naming anyone. He said a lead actor much younger than him had allegedly ridiculed him on set.
Ahmed said the actor reminded others that he had once assessed his acting abilities before telling a producer he was “alright” and described an incident in which the actor took a portable fan from another cast member and pretended to style his hair while calling others to watch. He said he chose not to react at the time because he did not want the incident to be shared on social media without context.
Following the podcast, netizens linked the incident to Fahad Sheikh after a video from a drama set went viral on Wednesday. Several actors, including Faysal Quraishi and Shamoon Abbasi, urged the unnamed actor to apologize.
Fahad Sheikh has denied disrespecting the veteran actor, saying the incident had been taken out of context. In a series of Instagram stories, he stated that on set, “we bond like a family who laughs together” and what seemed like bullying was not the case to begin with.
“This was not my first project with Ahmed Sahab — I have worked with him on many projects, and we shared a bond where we would laugh and have a good time on set,” he wrote, adding that he had already apologized personally. “He is my senior, I am not ashamed to ask for his forgiveness publicly,”.
Pakistani actor Fahad Sheikh has rejected allegations of misconduct, stating that a viral video circulating on social media has been presented out of context.
