DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday nominated Pakistani right-arm pacer Hasan Ali for its May edition of ‘Player of the Month’ after his recent spectacular performances in the series against South Africa and Zimbabwe.
According to details, the right-arm pacer is currently the leading wicket-taker in all formats of cricket in 2021. Ali has managed to impress all with his fiery fast bowling and ability to bamboozle batsmen across the world.
Hasan Ali has been in brilliant form ever since his comeback to the international arena. He made his comeback to the national side in some style, picking up 40 wickets at an average of 15.37 in 11 matches across all three formats.

Sri Lanka’s Praveen Jayawickrama and Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman, Mushfiqur Rahim are the other two nominees for the player of the month award. Jayawickrama played one Test against Bangladesh, picking up 11 wickets at an average of 16.11.
Mushfiqur, on the other, hand played one Test match and three ODIs during the month, all against Sri Lanka. He scored a century in the second ODI and helped Bangladesh to a series victory against Sri Lanka.

Last month, the ICC had nominated Pakistani skipper Babar Azam and left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman for the ‘Player of the Month’ award for April.
