The crescent moon of Dhul-Hijjah has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, meaning the most important ritual of Hajj, Waqf-e-Arafah, will be observed on May 26, 2026.
According to Gulf media reports, Monday, May 18, 2026, will mark the first day of Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH.

Earlier, the Saudi Supreme Court had appealed to residents across the Kingdom to look for the Dhul-Hijjah moon this evening. In its statement, the court said that anyone who sights the moon, whether with the naked eye or through binoculars—should report their testimony to the nearest court.
Meanwhile, Turkey has announced that the first day of Dhul-Hijjah in the country will also fall on Monday, May 18, with Eid-ul-Adha being observed on Wednesday, May 27, in line with its pre-determined Islamic calendar.
In Oman, authorities confirmed that the Dhul-Hijjah moon has been sighted, and Eid-ul-Adha will also be observed on May 27.
