Govt to resolve outstanding issues of students by Friday: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood has announced to resolve outstanding issues of students by the upcoming Friday.
In a tweet, Shafqat Mehmood wrote, “All Board exams are cancelled. No confusion on that. 80 percent students have no issues. There are some categories like repeaters or improvers and private students and some others whose issues need to be addressed and will be by Friday.”

Moreover, he tweeted that the Ministry of Education was in consultation with 29 boards across the country regarding issues of some students arising out of promotion policy.
“Boards have requested a few more days to finalise recommendations. A comprehensive announcement on all issues will be made by Friday,” he wrote.
Addressing a press conference last week, Mehmood said that all schools, universities, and other educational institutions will remain closed till 15th July.
The education minister also announced, “The students of matriculation and intermediate will be promoted for the next class on the basis of their results from the previous years.”
He further said that the decision has been taken with the consultation of all provinces, adding that the students will be able to enroll in the next class as soon as the school reopens.
