ISLAMABAD: Following reductions in petrol and diesel prices announced late Monday night, the government has now lowered the price of kerosene oil as well.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Tuesday, the price of kerosene has been reduced by Rs3.58 per litre. The new rate stands at Rs301.64 per litre, down from the earlier Rs305.22.
It may be recalled that the Petroleum Division, in its notification for August 4, had announced a cut of Rs4.8 per litre in petrol prices, bringing the new rate to Rs331.95 per litre.
Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel was reduced by Rs2.45 per litre, fixing the revised rate at Rs389.93 per litre.
The latest adjustments in petroleum product prices come amid ongoing volatility in global oil markets and domestic pressure to ease inflationary trends.
Officials say the reductions are aimed at providing relief to consumers, though retail pump prices may vary slightly due to freight and local charges.
