ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Spokesperson, Marriyum Aurangzeb has criticized the PTI-led federal government and said, “The government has not done enough to stem the spread of the coronavirus.”
Addressing a press conference today (Thursday), Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the PTI was busy running the government on social media as the country grapples with the coronavirus pandemic.
She further said that the opposition was unable to work with the federal government due to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘mental disturbance’.
Commenting on the PML-N proposal to the government, she said, “Shehbaz Sharif had recommended State Bank of Pakistan to release loans without interest.”
Referring to the government’s involvement in NAB’s affairs, she said that the government was playing a fixed match through NAB-Niazi nexus, adding, “It is the government’s own representatives that occupy NAB’s offices.”
The PML-N spokesperson also said that everyone including the media was facing a financial crunch amid coronavirus crisis. She demanded that the government should announce a package for the media industry.
She said, “Journalists are also frontline workers in the battle against coronavirus,” adding that the government had ‘conspired’ to suppress the media.
