Govt closes Educational institutes in Lahore due to smog

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced that educational institutes would remain closed today due to extreme smog and hazardous toxins in the air. 
The decision has been taken keeping in view the worst smog. Lahore has been shrouded in a murky haze for the last couple of days.
The Education Department has issued a notification.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, “Due to the sudden increase in smog, all schools in Lahore will remain closed tomorrow. We are closely monitoring the #LahoreSmog situation.”
He added, “The administration is already on high alert and has tasked them to escalate actions against crop burning and other factors that contribute to smog.” 
Smog has once again hit various areas of Lahore city, disrupting the routine life as the citizens are reeling under such weather conditions.
The smog has reduced visibility to less than 1 km, while the Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached 455 in Lahore.

The smog is caused by a lack of rain and immense pollution. Smoke from vehicles, factories, and burning of the remains of crops could one of the major factors behind the dense smog.
