Government maintains fuel prices despite decline in global oil rates

Despite a continued decline in global oil prices, the federal government has decided not to provide any relief to the public in the prices of petroleum products.

The government has announced that the existing prices of petrol and diesel will remain unchanged for the next fortnight.

In this regard, the Petroleum Division has issued an official notification.

According to the notification, the price of petrol across the country will continue at Rs253.17 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has also been maintained at Rs257.08 per litre.

It is worth noting that a reduction in global oil prices is usually followed by a cut in domestic fuel prices.

However, contrary to international trends, the government has opted not to lower prices this time, a decision that has led to disappointment among the public.
