The government has significantly increased the price of jet fuel used in commercial aircraft.
According to the decision, the price of jet fuel for airlines has been raised by Rs154 per litre, pushing it from Rs188.93 to a record Rs342.37 per litre.
The increase represents an 82 per cent jump in jet fuel prices. As a result, airline fares are expected to rise by up to Rs5,000.

As a result of the latest move by the federal government, the ex-depot petrol price has been increased to Rs.321.17 per liter from Rs.266.17 per liter, representing a sharp 17% jump.
Similarly, the ex-depot high-speed diesel rate has been fixed at Rs.335.86 per liter for next week.
