KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan posted a strong recovery on Friday, with the price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs3,000 per tola, following an uptick in international bullion prices.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), whose Karachi bullion market rates are followed nationwide, the price of 24-karat gold increased to Rs430,436 per tola, compared to Rs427,436 in the previous trading session.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold climbed by Rs2,572 to Rs369,029, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold gained Rs2,357 to settle at Rs338,288.
The international bullion market also witnessed a positive trend, with the price of gold rising by $30 to $4,080 per ounce, lending support to domestic prices.
Silver prices also edged higher. The price of 24-karat silver increased by Rs79 to Rs6,294 per tola, while 10 grams of silver rose by Rs68 to Rs5,396. In the global market, silver gained 79 cents to reach $58.15 per ounce.
The Karachi bullion market serves as the benchmark for precious metal prices across Pakistan, with local gold and silver rates determined on the basis of international bullion prices and the interbank exchange rate.
