KARACHI: Pakistan’s gold prices fell on Friday in tandem with the global market’s drop. The yellow gold lost Rs1,200 over the day and was now trading at Rs214,100 per tola.
The 10-gram gold was sold at Rs183,556 after a decrease of Rs1,029, according to rates shared by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
On Thursday, gold prices in Pakistan had increased by Rs100 per tola.
Following a $11 drop in the global market, the international rate for gold was fixed at $2,040 per ounce on Friday with a $20 premium, according to APGJSA.
Silver prices, meanwhile, stayed steady at Rs 2,570 per tola.
Meanwhile, The Pakistani rupee marginally reduced against the US dollar, depreciating 0.01% in the inter-bank market on Friday.
At close, the local unit settled at 279.36, a loss of Re0.03 against the greenback, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
On Thursday, the rupee improved marginally to settle at 279.33 against the US dollar, according to the SBP.
