WASHINGTON: The number of coronavirus cases globally continues to rise and has reached close to 4.9 million with more than 320,000 deaths.
Around the world, the pandemic has killed more than 320,189 people and infected over 4,894,278. Moreover, 1,909,233 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far.
Russia became the world’s second-highest infected country after the United States with 290,678 cases of coronavirus reported so far.
The United States has been the hardest-hit country, with 1,550,294 cases of infections, including more than 91,981 deaths.
Over 290,678 people have infected while 2,722 people died of the virus in Russia. Canada reported 5,842 fatalities and 78,072 infections due to coronavirus.
Italy has reported 32,007 fatalities, with 153 people succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours. The country has reported 225,886 infections. Spain has recorded 27,709 fatalities with 104 deaths in a single day and 278,188 infections.
China has to date declared 4,634 deaths and 82,960 cases, with 78,241 recoveries. France has reported 96 deaths in a single day, taking the tally to 28,239 deaths and 179,927 cases.
The United Kingdom has reported 34,796 fatalities with 468 deaths in the last 24 hours and 246,406 infections. Saudi Arabia has reported 57,345 cases of coronavirus, while 320 coronavirus deaths have been reported.
Kuwait has reported 118 deaths while over 15,691 people have been tested positive for the virus. Turkey reported 150,593 coronavirus cases and 4,171 fatalities.
Meanwhile, Mexico has reported 353 deaths in a single day, taking the tally to 5,332 deaths and 51,633 cases.
