ISLAMABAD: Industries and domestic consumers are facing hardships due to gas load shedding as the cold intensifies across the country.
According to details, due to shortage of gas in Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Peshawar,
Hafizabad, Multan, Mirpur Khas and other cities, besides industrialists and the business community, domestic consumers are also suffering.
Gas load shedding in most cities has increased the problems of domestic consumers.
Due to the storm of inflation, it has become difficult to order food from outside while it
has become difficult to run heaters to get rid of severe cold.
Gas shortages in industrial areas across the country have affected production. Expressing concern over the non-availability of gas to industries in Karachi, the industrial community has demanded a supply of gas in the required quantity.
Chairman Businessmen Group Zubair Motiwala said that the industrial community was not satisfied with the government’s measures. Gas shortages could not have occurred if more LNG cargoes had been ordered in time.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar had said that procurement of Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is not linked to the gas shortage as it is not provided to domestic consumers.
