KARACHI: A gang involved in cybercrime in Punjab has reportedly been fleecing people through the WhatsApp application.
Talking exclusively to the MM news, one of the victims, Ali Hassan, a resident of Liaquatabad, said that a fraudulent investment group was looking people through the WhatsApp group.
A man named Inayatullah sells fake schemes and asks victims to invest money starting from minimum Rs. 500 with a guarantee of profitable returns.
The victims were told to invest the money and at the time of the profit, it would be handed over to them in person. But once someone deposits the money to the designated account, they are immediately removed from the group and their number also gets blocked.
The victim claimed that he was satisfied with the other people in the group, so he paid Rs 25,000 through Mobile Banking which he got, however after receiving the money he was expelled from the group and my number was also blocked.
The conned company has so far received millions of rupees through the fake platform which falls under the category of cybercrime and is being investigated by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Another victim, Ali Hassan said that he frequently travels but he originally belongs from Faisalabad. He submitted 20,000 rupees and was removed from the group.
Ali Hassan in this regard had appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, and the FIA, to take immediate action against the group and return the money to our victims.
