Astro Bot cleaned up at The Game Awards 2024 Thursday night, taking home a total of four awards, including the top prize of Game of the Year. The platformer, which is a playable homage to Sony’s 30-year history, also won best game direction.
The competition wasn’t left empty-handed, with indie sensation Balatro taking three awards, while Atlus’ fantasy RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio matched that total, including a win for Best Narrative. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 and Black Myth: Wukong each took home two awards, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth won best music and score.
