The ongoing fuel shortage in Balochistan has significantly increased difficulties for residents, with limited fuel availability causing prices to surge sharply.
The situation has become so severe that petrol is reportedly being sold for as much as Rs500 per litre in certain districts, while several filling stations have temporarily suspended operations.
According to reports, disruptions in the supply of petroleum products across various parts of the province have led to an acute shortage of petrol and diesel.
The limited availability of fuel has resulted in substantial price increases, creating considerable challenges for the public in both travel and day-to-day activities.
Sources indicate that the crisis has become particularly severe in districts including Nushki, Kharan, and Loralai, where some sellers are allegedly exploiting the shortage by charging up to Rs500 per litre for petrol.
The situation is also causing concern in the provincial capital, Quetta. A number of petrol stations have temporarily closed after running out of fuel, while those that remain operational are witnessing long queues of cars and motorcycles. Residents are being forced to wait for hours, leading to frustration and additional stress.
According to Qayamuddin Agha, President of the Petroleum Dealers Association, the relevant authorities have increased fuel transportation from Shikarpur in an effort to address the shortage.
