HYDERABAD: Four members of a family burned to death while one other suffered critical injuries when a fire broke out in a residential flat in Hyderabad’s Ganjo Takar hills area on Monday.
According to rescue sources, a residential flat caught fire on Monday in the region of the Ganjo Takar hills area. As a result, four women and a man sustained severe burn injuries.
Soon after the incident, rescue workers reached the spot and shifted the injured to civil hospital for treatment where the injured women succumbed to their injuries.
Police said four women inside the flat suffered severe burns and succumbed to their injuries. Police added a man was severely injured and is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital battling life and death situation.
A teenage girl is also among those that died due to the inferno, police said. Police said the reasons behind the fire could yet to be ascertained.
Earlier on February 14, four people, including a man and his two sons, suffocated to death and three others sustained burn injuries when a fire had broke out at a building in the Gharibabad area of Sukkur on Friday.
According to the rescue sources, the fire broke out in shops on the ground floor of a four-story building. As a result, smoke accumulated at a room on the upper floors of the building, causing the death of four people, including two children, due to suffocation.
Citing the incident police said the fire broke out on the ground floor of the building firstly, due to moke accumulation in upper floors four people, including three members of a family a man and his two sons, were killed.
