In a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO), security forces have eliminated four terrorists affiliated with the Fitna Al-Khwaris group in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation, conducted by Pakistani security personnel, resulted in the terrorists’ deaths after a fierce gunbattle, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
The security forces also recovered a significant amount of arms and explosives from the terrorists’ hideout. These individuals were reportedly involved in a range of militant activities, including attacks on security forces and the targeted killing of innocent civilians.
The ISPR further confirmed that sanitization operations are ongoing in the region to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining militants, with the Pakistani security forces committed to eradicating terrorism from the country.
This operation follows a series of successful engagements by the security forces in the region. Just four days earlier, security forces neutralized nine terrorists in two separate incidents in North Waziristan. The first operation, conducted in the general area of Dosalli, targeted a reported Khwarij stronghold, leading to the deaths of six terrorists and the capture of two others. In a second operation in the Esham area, security forces engaged in a fierce firefight, resulting in three terrorists being killed and two others injured.
These operations highlight the ongoing efforts by Pakistan’s security forces to combat militancy and maintain peace in the region.
