KARACHI: The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) arrested four people on Monday during a raid conducted at a shop for selling fake plastic eggs in Clifton area.
Police arrested four persons including two wholesalers and one retailer after disclosure of selling of fake eggs at a shop in Khayaban-e-Sahar.
The sources revealed that the two crates of the eggs allegedly made of plastic were recovered .during the raid by the food authorities.
The sus[pect confessed to police that the eggs were being supplied to Karachi from Gharo.
The food authority staff also recovered more than 100 crates of eggs from the supply van.
Sindh Food Authority in a statement said, “Preliminary inspection suggests that the eggs recovered from the shop were made from a plastic material.”
According to the SFA statement, “The confiscated eggs have been sent to the laboratory for further tests. Eggs were also kept in a truck along with genuine chicken eggs.”
