The Pakistani rupee posted a marginal gain against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Wednesday.
By the close of trading, the local currency settled at 278.80, appreciating by Rs0.01 compared to the previous day’s close of 278.81.
In global markets, the dollar showed slight strength while major currencies traded within narrow ranges amid subdued activity in Asia, partly due to a public holiday in Japan and anticipation of key central bank decisions.
The euro was last seen trading at $1.1716 against the dollar, while the British pound remained largely unchanged at $1.3523, with both currencies easing further from the recent highs recorded earlier this month.
