SUKKUR: Five people, including two children and two women, were killed after a speeding train hit a rickshaw near Rohri area of Sukkur on Tuesday.
According to police, a fast-moving train hit a rickshaw near Pyarwah, when the rickshaw was crossing the railway track in the area. As a result, five people, including two children and two women were killed on the spot.
The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities. Yesterday, in a separate train accident, a train driver had wounded after Jacobabad to Karachi Sukkur Express hit a stationary goods train near Tando Adam.
On February 10, A woman was killed after being hit by a train while crossing the railway line near Karachi’s Malir Halt Railway Station.
According to rescue sources, a 35-year old unknown woman was hit by a speeding train as she was crossing a fenceless railway track near Malir Halt Railway Station.
As a result, she suffered injuries and died on the spot. Later, the body had shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident had occurred when the woman trying to cross the track and hit by Allama Iqbal Express that was traveling to Karachi. The area police told that they started an investigation to find out the causes of the accident.
