A fire broke out at Al Najeebi Electronic Market in the Saddar area of Karachi on Tuesday, causing panic among shopkeepers and visitors. The market is known for selling mobile phones and electronic accessories.
According to initial reports, the fire started suddenly and quickly spread through several shops. Fire brigade teams rushed to the scene and are currently working to control and extinguish the blaze.
No casualties have been reported so far.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, while rescue operations remain ongoing. Authorities have cordoned off the area to prevent further damage and ensure public safety.
It is worth mentioning that a major blaze broke out on the night of January 17, 2026, at the Gul Plaza shopping center on MA Jinnah Road in Karachi, quickly spreading through the multi-story commercial building.
The fire raged for over 36 hours, with firefighters battling intense flames amid thick smoke and densely packed shops.
It resulted in 79 of deaths and many more injured and missing, making it one of the deadliest recent fire disasters in the city.
