Resuce 1122 on Tuesday reported that a fire erupted at a chemical factory in Karachi’s SITE area.
In a statement, Rescue 1122 spokesperson said the factory was located near Valika Chowrangi and that efforts were underway to bring the blaze under control.
“A fire brigade truck, along with rescue teams, was immediately dispatched to the site as soon as Rescue 1122 received the report,” the spokesperson said, adding that emergency teams were working to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby buildings.
A contingent of Sindh Rangers was also sent to the scene. In a separate statement, a Rangers spokesperson said personnel were actively participating in relief and rescue operations alongside fire brigade and emergency workers.
No casualties were immediately reported, and the cause of the fire could not be ascertained.
The incident comes days after a massive blaze engulfed a plastic factory in Karachi’s Landhi area, where more than 10 fire tenders and two snorkels took part in the operation.
Earlier this month, a fire at Saddar’s mobile market was also swiftly controlled by rescue teams.
