A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Nawab Town Police Station in Lahore against retired police officer Rana Akram, the alleged husband of Anmol, also known as Pinky, who was recently arrested on charges of drug trafficking.
According to Lahore Police, the case was registered on the complaint of a woman identified as Yasmeen Tabassum after a Central Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) inquiry reportedly found sufficient grounds to proceed against the accused.
According to the FIR, the complainant alleged that Rana Akram, accompanied by more than 10 police personnel, forcibly entered her home. She claimed that Rana Akram and the accompanying officers assaulted her husband.
The complainant further alleged that the accused took jewellery worth approximately PKR 5.5 million, PKR 800,000 in local and foreign currency, and other valuable belongings from the house.
She also alleged that the suspects arranged for a false criminal case to be registered against her husband before taking him into custody. In addition, she claimed that the group drove away with a vehicle belonging to the family.
Police stated that Rana Akram has retired from the police service and confirmed that the investigation into the case is ongoing.
