The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has introduced a financial assistance program for the families of deceased breadwinners.
KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced that families will receive Rs 1 million if the deceased was under 60 years of age. For those above 60, the financial aid will be PKR 500,000.
The chief minister emphasized that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is making significant strides toward becoming a “State of Madinah.”
Last year, the federal government also approved a financial aid package for the families of missing persons. The Federal Cabinet has approved a support package of Rs 5 million per family to assist in legal and financial matters related to missing persons.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar briefed the media about the decisions made by the Federal Cabinet, which convened in Islamabad with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the chair.
The package, announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is based on recommendations from previous committees addressing the issue of missing persons. The cabinet also approved the formation of a special committee to assess the needs of families requiring assistance.
