The second knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup gets underway today, with the tournament’s final 16 teams competing in the Round of 16 for a place in the quarter-finals.
Following the completion of the group stage and the Round of 32, the three host nations — United States, Canada and Mexico — have all progressed, alongside Brazil, Paraguay, Morocco, Norway, France, England, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Egypt, Argentina and Colombia.

The Round of 16 begins today with Canada vs Morocco, followed later by Paraguay vs France.
On 5 July, Brazil will face Norway, while Mexico take on England. On 6 July, Portugal meets Spain, and the United States face Belgium.
The final two Round of 16 fixtures will be played on 7 July, with Argentina facing Egypt, while Switzerland take on Colombia. The winners of these eight matches will advance to the quarter-finals.
