Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s high-level engagements in Iran have drawn regional attention, as his meetings with top Iranian leadership signal renewed diplomatic momentum aimed at easing tensions and strengthening dialogue in a volatile Middle East landscape.
Late Thursday, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held an meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during his visit to Iran.
According to reports, the meeting is being viewed as particularly important in terms of possible progress toward an agreement between Iran and the United States and mutual understanding between the parties.
The discussions covered the overall regional situation, efforts to reduce tensions, and matters related to diplomatic solutions.
Earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir had a busy day in Tehran on Thursday, during which he also met Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
According to Iranian media, the meeting included detailed discussions on ceasefire efforts, ongoing tensions, and advancing the negotiation process.

During the visit, the Field Marshal also visited the office of the Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya and met senior military officials, where security conditions and defence cooperation were discussed.
On Wednesday, he had also met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
On that occasion, Araghchi thanked Pakistan for hosting the negotiation process and appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting peace in the region.
