Religious scholars from Darul Iftah Jamia Naeemia, in collaboration with the Lahore police department, have issued a Fatwa declaring three activities—one-wheelie, kite flying, and aerial firing—as un-Islamic.
The Fatwa cites various Quranic verses and Hadiths to substantiate that these actions are “Haram.”
The Fatwa follows a series of critical meetings between senior police officers from Lahore’s operations wing, during which data was presented highlighting the significant number of fatalities and injuries caused by these activities, particularly among young people. These incidents have resulted in enduring trauma for many families.
As per police, the religious scholars and law enforcement have issued a strong warning against participating in these dangerous activities, deeming them both illegal and un-Islamic. The scholars emphasized that Islam places the highest value on preserving human life, and any behavior that jeopardizes life is strictly prohibited.
The official quoted the Fatwa, stating that these activities are akin to suicide, as the Quran explicitly forbids actions leading to self-harm.
