ISLAMABAD: The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has included Pakistan in the top 10 countries in terms of standards implementation, which brightened the country’s chances of getting out of the grey list.
According to the details, the FATF has convened its meeting this month which will continue from October 17 to 21. On the last day of the meeting, the chances of Pakistan being removed from the gray list are bright while the implementation of the FATF conditions has been completed.
Earlier, FATF announced that a FATF team will visit Pakistan during August and September before taking a decision on removing Pakistan from the gray list. During the visit, the technical team held meetings with the concerned authorities.
During the visit, FATF refrained from making any negative comments regarding Pakistan’s implementation of the points. The review team came to Pakistan to understand the political will to implement the FATF rules.
FATF has decided to hold a press conference at the end of the meeting on October 21. It should be noted that the implementation of the points of the Financial Action Task Force started during the Imran Khan regime.
